When I have to book time off from work or check my bookings, I have to log in to an unwieldy Oracle system. I wanted something that I could refer to quickly on my phone.
PTO Planner displays my booked, unbooked and remaining holidays, in an installable web app. The allocations are made using Google Calendar.
The app pulls in all events for the year from a personal Google Calendar calendar. If the event has ‘booked’ in the description it displays it accordingly. If not, it is displayed as unbooked. The remaining days are treated as unallocated. During the ingestion of the events, if a date is a weekend or a public holiday, as defined by the UK Gov API, it is not subtracted from the total allocation.
