Polar watch makes sense now

Ok, so I’ve figured out how to use my Polar RS200 watch. In a recent post I was moaning about how the watch was relentlessly beeping while I was running. It turns out that I was using the OwnIndex exercise setting, which is supposed to lock you into one particular heart-rate zone. I should have been creating my own exercises on the watch, spread across three heart-rate zones.

Despite the freezing cold and rain, I forced myself into my running clothes last night and went for a 30 minute run along Hampstead Lane with my new-found understanding of the watch. The weather became tolerable after about 2 minutes, so I’m not going to let it get to me.

The pain in my knees has all but disappeared, but I’m going to continue to take it easy for the next week or so.

Things are looking up!
